24 hour plumbers · Cedar Rapids

Somebody that answers at two in the morning.

Burst pipes, sewer backups and drains that have given up. You get a real plumber on the phone, a price before anyone opens a toolbox, and a truck on the way.

What you are actually buying

You hear the price before anyone opens a toolbox.

Nobody negotiates well at three in the morning, and everybody knows it. So you get the call out charge on the phone, the repair price before a tool comes out of the van, and a phone call rather than an invoice if we open a wall and find something worse.

What we do

Residential plumbing, and nothing else.

Houses across Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha and the towns around them.

Emergency plumbing

Burst and frozen pipes, sewer backups, overflowing toilets, and anything actively putting water where it should not be.

What happens when you call

Drains and sewers

Kitchen and bath drains, main line blockages, tree roots, and a camera down the pipe when the same drain keeps backing up.

Drain and sewer work

Water heaters

Repair, replacement and tankless conversion. Most replacements are finished the same day we look at it.

Water heater work

Everything we handle

A pipe wrench, an adjustable wrench, water pump pliers and a leather tool roll laid out on a dark bench

Since 2009

Small enough that the phone is answered by a plumber.

Dale started this with one truck and a phone that rang at all hours. There are four trucks now, which is as big as it is going to get, because the whole point is that the person who picks up knows the person who turns up.

We work on houses, not office parks. Most of what we do is unglamorous and urgent, and we would rather be the ones you call twice than the ones you call once.

How a job goes

The same four steps at midnight as at midday.

  1. A person picks up

Not a call center and not a machine. One of us, with a truck, in Linn County.

  2. We tell you what to shut off

Before we hang up. Stopping the water is usually worth more than how fast we drive.

  3. You get a time and a price

An arrival window and the call out charge, said out loud on the phone.

  4. Nothing starts until you agree

We look, we quote the repair, and you decide. No work begins on a guess.

The everyday things

Not everything is an emergency.

Plenty of what we do is the ordinary work that keeps a house running.

  • Leaking or dripping faucets
  • Running and rocking toilets
  • Garbage disposals
  • Sump pumps and backup pumps
  • Shut off valves that have seized
  • Outdoor spigots and hose bibs
  • Washing machine and dishwasher hookups
  • Water pressure that has dropped off
  • Pipe insulation before winter
  • Fixture replacement in a remodel

No surprises

Three things you can hold us to.

  • The price does not move

What the quote says is what you pay. If we open a wall and find something worse, we stop and talk to you before anything else happens.

  • Licensed and insured

Both, and we will show you either one without being asked. Anybody working in your house at midnight should be able to prove who they are.

  • One year on our work

Every repair carries a year of workmanship warranty. If what we fixed fails inside that, we come back and put it right for nothing.

Where we go

Cedar Rapids and the towns around it.

If yours is not on the list, call anyway and we will tell you straight.

  • Cedar Rapids
  • Marion
  • Hiawatha
  • Robins
  • Ely
  • Fairfax
  • Palo
  • Center Point
  • Swisher

Is it happening right now?

Shut the water off at the main if you can reach it, then call. We will talk you through the rest while somebody is getting in the truck.
